Today marks yet another set of COVID-19 Guideline changes from CDC, CDPHE, and CDE. It has been the goal of Fremont RE3 School District to follow guidelines from these agencies as the Pandemic has evolved over the past 2 years.
The most recent changes will directly be influenced by the county’s COVID-19 Community Level. The following statement came directly from: https://www.cdc.gov/coronaviru...
COVID-19 Community Levels are a new tool to help communities decide what prevention steps to take based on the latest data. Levels can be low, medium, or high and are determined by looking at hospital beds being used, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in an area. Take precautions to protect yourself and others from COVID-19 based on the COVID-19 Community Level in your area.
Please see the bullet points listed below that highlight the most recent changes as well as continued strategies that will remain in place.
Schools may choose to transition away from a case-investigation response model to a more typical routine disease control model for disease control in schools.
Continue to encourage vaccination of staff and students.
Follow isolation requirements (http://covid19.colorado.gov/isolation-and quarantine) for students and staff who are ill or have tested positive for COVID-19.
Continue to recommend transmission prevention strategies, including testing and masking for staff and students following illness and exposures.
Respond to clusters of cases (including increases in respiratory illness) and confirmed outbreaks as described below.
Continue to report identified cases and outbreaks to public health as required by Colorado Statute and Regulation (https://www.sos.state.co.us/CCR?DisplayRule.do)
The use of face coverings on school buses is now based on COVID-19 Community Levels. If county levels are medium or low the face coverings are not required. If county levels are high then face coverings are required until levels fall back into medium to low levels. Currently Fremont County is in the high level so face coverings will continue to be needed on the school buses. (Mr. Thornton will post the current Fremont County COVID-19 Community Level in his weekly PAM message).
Rapid antigen COVID-19 testing will remain available at school through the nurse’s office. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
